Our
Story

Bournemouth Family Care was conceived out of a desire to help children and young people facing a challenging time navigating life and/or education.  We work in partnership with local authorities and schools to support children and young people overcome whatever barriers are standing in their way.

We focus our care to enable children and young people to make sense of, and overcome, past experiences and trauma; we aim to establish feelings of safety and security, thus enabling them to gain independent living skills, a sense of happiness and belonging, as well as the ability to dream for the future.

Our therapeutic approach ensures that young people’s talents are embraced and celebrated, with a focus on building resilience to help overcome life challenges.

where it all began...

Our founding Director wanted to ensure we could provide a tailored service that would offer young people the best possible chance to achieve their full potential.  Having worked in mainstream and specialist education settings it was clear that some of society's most vulnerable weren't being provided with the specific, individualised support they needed.

This led to a partnership with our sister company Gloucester Family Care, founded in 2020, who were already successfully providing assistance, guidance and in some cases accommodation to support a wide range of young people.  Combining BFC's local presence in the BCP area with the experience and expertise from GFC will ensure we are able to deliver the skills and knowledge for each young person in a format that works for them.
